Make an appointment for an STI test

Do you want to get tested for STIs? You can do so for free at the GGD. You can go to the STI consultation hour for everyone. You can also go to an STI consultation hour for sex workers. No room at the GGD? Or do you have to wait a long time? You can also go to your regular doctor (GP) for an STI test. However, you will then have to pay for the test yourself.

When should you get an STI test?

Get tested for STIs:

  • If you have symptoms that could indicate an STI
  • If you have had sex with someone who has an STI

It is a good idea to get tested for STIs at least twice a year. Even if you don’t have any symptoms. You can do this for free at the GGD.

You can also go to your regular doctor (GP) for an STI test. A visit to your doctor is free of charge. However, you will have to pay for the tests through your health insurance.

Self-test

Do you want to get tested for STIs, but would rather not go to your doctor or the GGD? You can also do a self-test. You do the test yourself and then send it to the lab for analysis. If the test shows that you have an STI, you will usually receive treatment from the company where you bought the test.
