Question or complaint Chamber of Commerce (KvK)

  • Are you self-employed? Then you must register as a self-employed person (zzp’er) with the Chamber of Commerce (KvK)
  • The KvK keeps track of which companies there are in the Netherlands 
  • Is the Chamber of Commerce not treating you well? Then you can file a complaint
  • You do this at the Chamber of Commerce itself
  • Do you have trouble filing a complaint? We can help you

Register

Are you self-employed? In a window or as an independant escort? Then you need to register as a ZZP’er with the Chamber of Commerce (KvK).

Submit a complaint

Do you have a complaint about the KvK? This is what you can do:

  • Download this complaint form, fill it in en send it in
  • Write a letter. Put the following in your letter:
    • Your name
    • Your address
    • Your phone number (not mandatory, but might come in handy)
    • The date of sending the complaint
    • Your complaint (tell as clearly as possible what went wrong, when this happened and who you spoke to. It is okay if you don’t know a name)
    • What you think the KvK should do with your complaint
    • Send supporting documents (evidence) if you have them. For instance letters you received from the KvK

What to expect

You will receive a confirmation of receipt within two weeks.

An employee of the Chamber of Commerce will contact you. This is never the person your complaint is about. You can then explain more about your complaint. 

The employee will investigate your complaint. You will be notified of the results of the investigation within 6 weeks.

If you do not agree with the conclusions of the KvK, you can contact the Nationale Ombudsman (Dutch only). This is an organization that helps you if you have a problem with the government.
