Work permit
The rules about sex work are different in every municipality. How to apply for a permit also differs per municipality.
Amsterdam
Do you have a complaint about the municipality of Amsterdam? This is what you can do.:
- Call 14 020 (no area code needed, also works from mobile phone)
- Fill in this complaint form (Dutch only)
- Write a letter. Put the following in your letter :
- Your name
- Your address
- Your phone number (not mandatory, but might come in handy)
- The date of sending the complaint
- Your complaint (tell as clearly as possible what went wrong, when this happened and who you spoke to. It is okay if you don’t know a name)
- What you think the municipality should do with your complaint
- Send supporting documents (evidence) if you have them. For instance letters you received from the municipality

Other municipalities
Do you have a complaint about your municipality? Find out how you can submit a complaint on the website of the municipality your complaint is about.
This can usually be done online, by phone and in writing.
Are you writing a letter? Put the following in your letter:

What to expect
Usually you will receive a conformation message from the municipality within 1 week
Large municipalities will usually let you know their decision within 6 weeks. In The Hague this is within 10 weeks. This may be different in smaller municipalities.
If you do not agree with the conclusions of the municipality, you can contact Nationale Ombudsman (Dutch only). This is an organization that helps you if you have a problem with the government.
