Question or complaint healthcare worker

Are you treated badly by a doctor, nurse or other healthcare worker? This is what you can do:

• Talk to your healthcare worker. Maybe the two of you can solve the issue
• Write a letter or e-mail to your healthcare worker explaining your complaint. You must get a response within 10 weeks
• Submit your complaint to the person that handles the complaints for your healthcare worker (complaints officer). All places that provide care (for instance a hospital or GGD) must have a complaints officer. You can find out how to submit your complaint on the website of the place where the healthcare worker works
• Submit your complaint to your healthcare worker’s dispute resolution body. This is an independent body. All healthcare workers must be member of a dispute resolution body. On the website of your healthcare worker’s organization you can find which dispute resolution body you need to contact. 
• Is your complaint very serious? About violence or intimidation for instance? Then you can file a complaint at the Tuchtcollege voor de Gezondheidszorg (Disciplinary Court for Healthcare)(Dutch only).
